This is a blog to keep up with our "Goins" on at Little Cottage Tutoring. We offer tutoring in reading, writing, and math. We believe that tutorials should be prescriptive and based on the child's needs, not just a "program" that is one size fits all. We are passionate about teaching and believe that every child can learn in the right environment. Welcome to the Little Cottage!
Meet the Teachers:
I am a mom to four wonderful children and one spoiled rotten doxie named Jack. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in CCISD for the past four years, as well as Montessori school for seven years prior to that. I am an avid reader, writer, and learner, and I love to pass that excitement on to my classroom kids. I know that when my students leave my room they may forget the things I said, or something I've taught them, but they will always remember the way I made them feel.
I moved to Texas from Ohio in July 2011, and attended Kent State University- Go Flashes! This is my fourth year teaching and my second year teaching third grade. I am so excited to be a part of the Mossman family!
My mom, dad and older sister still live in Ohio, but I have two sets of Aunts and Uncles who live here in the area. I love to swim and was a competitive swimmer for nine consecutive years. On my weekends, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My Uncle has taught me how to drive his boat and wave runners! :) I am a life long learner and spend many hours reading about teaching and how to perfect what I do. I love kids and value the relationships I build with them throughout the school year.
